Park City, Utah Real Estate and Community Info.

Park City, Utah is the picturesque home of three world-renowned ski slopes, award-winning restaurants, and year-round activities. Founded in 1869 after silver was discovered, the town is now famous for its lifestyle and resort communities. Full-time residents and second homeowners enjoy the host of winter and summer seasonal activities, as well as the community spirit that comes from a smaller town. Its close proximity to Salt Lake City – one of CNN’s World’s 15 “Hottest Cities for Business” - makes it a convenient destination for travelers, second homeowners, and commuters.

Shopping and Dining

Park City is a foodie’s dream. No matter what neighborhood you live in, gourmet foods from across the globe are just a few minutes away. Whether you’re in the mood for casual eating, fine dining, or something eclectic or new, you’ll find it here. Locals love the many restaurants run by the “Best Chef in Salt Lake,” John Murcko, including “Park City’s Best Restaurant,” Talisker on Main. Live music and televised sports events are often featured in Park City’s many pubs and nightclubs. Prefer to relax after a day on the slopes? Find a table at one of the area’s cozy wine bars. Shoppers can browse the boutique shops along historic Main Street or hit big-name favorites at the Tanger Outlet Mall.

Parks and Recreation

Deer Valley Resort was ranked the #1 ski resort four years in a row by Ski magazine readers, and offers a variety of four-season activities, including: world-class skiing, lift-assisted mountain biking, breath-taking hiking trails, scenic chairlift rides, and more. The 1,200-acre Swaner Nature Preserve is the perfect place to observe wildlife, hike, or snowshoe. Guided tours through the meadows and rolling hills are available. The Utah Olympic Park – a 2002 Winter Olympics venue – offers bobsledding, Nordic jumping, and scenic chairlift rides. For indoor fun, check out the Newpark indoor recreational field, which includes soccer, lacrosse and football fields.

Living

From affordable, single-family houses to exclusive estates and high-rise luxury condos, Park City real estate has something for everyone. Ski-in, ski-out properties are de rigueur around the Deer Valley Resort. Jeremy Ranch properties are situated around the town’s private but affordable 18-hole golf course. Glenwild, a gated community, also offers golf-course living. For the quintessential small ski-town feel, look no further than Old Town Park City. Both The Colony and Upper Deer Valley are filled with exclusive estates on large plots.

Schools, Health, Transportation

The Park City School District operates seven public schools in the area, including Park City High School. Private schools, including two Montessori schools and the Pre-K through 8th grade Park City Day School, are also available. Emergency services and routine medical care is provided by the Park City Medical Center. Convenient access to Highway 80 makes the commute in to Salt Lake City a breeze. Depending on your location, most residents of the Park City area can arrive in downtown Salt Lake City or at the Salt Lake International Airport within 20 to 40 minutes.
